Dr. Melissa Powers

r. Melissa Powers grew up in sunny Santa Rosa, California, before heading to the University of Hawaii in Hilo to earn her Bachelor's degrees in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Cellular and Molecular Biology. She went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014.

Dr. Powers spent her first two years as an Associate Veterinarian at a mixed animal practice in Janesville, Minnesota, before discovering that her heart truly belonged with small animal medicine. She has focused on cats and dogs ever since, with special interests in dermatology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. However, the best part of her day are the clients and patients she gets to interact with.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Powers enjoys traveling, hiking and playing board games with her husband and two children. They share their home with two dogs (Burnie and Appa), a cat (Sushi), two guinea pigs (Mirabel and Cookie), and an aquarium with fish and snails.
